Abstract

The object of the invention is a device for the hygienisation of the post-fermentation sludge from the biogas plant, characterised by that fact that it has a housing (1) having an elongated, cylindrical shape, in which a body (4) of a UV lamp of elongated cylindrical shape is arranged; the body is made of a material permeable to UV radiation and is equipped with at least three partitions (3) made of the permeable material. The partitions allow more of the sludge to be exposed to the UV radiation as it passes through the device, thus increasing the efficiency of the process. To increase the efficiency further, the housing (1) is covered, on the inside, with a layer reflecting the UV radiation (2). The UV lamp is contained in the body (4) and includes an envelope (5), a filament (6), and a power supply.

Description

Device for the hygienisation of post-fermentation sludge from biogas plant
The present invention relates to a device for the hygienisation of the postfermentation sludge from the biogas plant in order to prepare a medium for the cultivation of algae.
The device according to the present invention is used to eliminate the biological life in the form of bacteria, microbes and other microorganisms and to sterilise the post-fermentation sludge which, after sterilisation carried out in the present device, is used as a fertiliser for the cultivation of algae.
The cultivation of algae for industrial purposes requires a very high purity and sterility regime of media, fertilisers and the water in which they are cultivated. The cultivation of algae is more efficient if, during the growth of the algal colonies, any bacterial infection does not take place. The algae, like all plants, require, for their growth, the fertilisation and supplying their cultivation with microelements containing nitrogen and phosphorus and other microelements. The post-fermentation sewage from the agricultural biogas plant is rich in such microelements, nitrogen and phosphorous. However, the post-fermentation water from the agricultural biogas plant, despite having a rich content, i.e. content of microelements which are beneficial for plants growth, also comprises bacteria and other biological contaminations with organisms which could interfere with the growth of algae.
Therefore, in this field, there is a need for a device allowing the fast and effective sterilisation of the post-fermentation sewage and allowing for its further use for the cultivation of algae. Searching for a suitable solution, the present inventors have developed a device for the sterilisation of the post-fermentation sewage, which allows the fast, effective sterilisation of the sewage in a continuous manner, and its immediate use for further purposes.
Thus, the object of the present invention is a device for the hygienisation of the post-fermentation sludge from the biogas plant, characterised by it has a housing having an elongated, cylindrical shape, in which a body of a UV lamp of the elongated cylindrical shape is arranged, wherein the body is made of a material permeable to the UV radiation, and is equipped with at least three partitions made of the material permeable to the UV radiation, wherein the housing is covered, on the inside, with a layer reflecting the UV radiation, and the UV lamp arranged in the body includes a lamp envelope, a filament and a power supply. Preferably, the housing is made of glass.
Preferably, the body for the UV lamp is made of quartz glass.
Preferably, the body has at least four partitions, more preferably at least six partitions.
Preferably, the partitions are made of quartz glass.
Preferably, the partitions are evenly distributed around the circumference.
Preferably, the partitions are not in a contact with the reflective layer, and the spacing between the partitions and the reflective layer is in the range of 20 to 30% of height of the partitions.
The device for the hygienisation of the post-fermentation sludge from the biogas plant has been designed to remove the biological life from the post-fermentation sludge from the agricultural biogas plant in order to produce the sterile fertiliser rich in microelements and beneficial for the growth of algae.
The structure of the device increases the surface of the distribution of the UV radiation by means of the specially designed glass housing in which there is the UV lamp. The post-fermentation effluent is subjected to the UV radiation which causes its hygienisation, by killing bacteria and the biological life which interferes with the cultivation of algae. Therefore, it is important that the UV radiation is in the contact with the largest possible surface of the postfermentation sewage from the biogas plant flowing through the device for the hygienisation.
An embodiment of the device according to the invention, of a steriliser of the post-fermentation sludge, is shown in Fig. 1, where its cross-section is illustrated. The device has a housing 1, for example made of glass, having an elongated, cylindrical shape, in which a body 4 for a UV lamp is arranged, having an elongated, cylindrical shape, made of a material permeable to UV radiation, preferably of quartz glass, equipped with at least three partitions 3 (in Fig. 1, six partitions), blades, preferably of glass, which increase the surface of reaching the post-fermentation mass, flowing along the housing 1, by the UV radiation. Since the post-fermentation sewage from the agricultural biogas plant is not very transparent, the developed shape of a luminaire, of the body 4 for the UV lamp aims to increase the surface of reaching individual layers of the post-fermentation sewage, flowing through the device, by the UV radiation.
The post-fermentation sewage flows through a pipe which constitutes the housing 1 of the steriliser. The housing 1 of the steriliser is covered on the inside with the layer reflecting the UV radiation 2, the reflective layer, for the radiation directed from the UV lamp, including the envelope 5, the filament 6 and the power supply, and centrally located in the housing 1 and enclosed in the body 4 with the partitions 3. The post-fermentation sewage from the agricultural biogas plant flows along the UV lamp located within the housing 1 of the steriliser, which is shielded with the glass body 4 having the partitions 3 which increase the surface of the flowing post-fermentation sewage on which the UV radiation falls. The amount of partitions is arbitrary but the greater the amount of partitions, the more effectively the UV radiation reaches the postfermentation sewage, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the sterilisation process.
In this manner, the device for the hygienisation of the post-fermentation sludge from biogas plant, in order to prepare the medium for the algae, more efficiently and effectively performs the hygienisation of the sewage from the biogas plant, pumped through the device.
