Abstract

A charge station comprises a box in which is mounted a bank of electric sockets. Electric sockets 7 are also mounted on the outside of the box. The box has a lid 3 fitted with hinges 4 and small cutaway sections 6. All the sockets are connected to a mains supply cable 9. The box may be wall mounted using holes 2 in the back plate 1. The box, formed from metal or plastic material, may be fitted with a RDC circuit breaker 8. The charge station serves as a base for connecting the low voltage recharging units for such devices as mobile phones, and batteries for camcorders, music players, torches and hand held video games; all the devices being charged safely and tidily in one place.

Description

Description

This invention relates to a multi-charge station.

The multi-charge station consists of a plastic or metal box within which electric sockets are mounted to plug in low voltage charging devices for mobile phones, cameras etc. Electric sockets are also mounted on the exterior of the box for use with wireless all in one charging units. The box also has a compartment at one end for storage of chargers that are not in use.

An electric cable enters the box at one end and then passes through a circuit breaker before joining into the exterior sockets and then completing the circuit joining into the inline interior sockets.

The box has a lid which is hinged at the front closing towards the back. The lid has slots cut out at the back where it closes against an extended back plate with two holes one at either end at the top so the unit can be wall mounted.

In modem society, most households have many devices which work off re-chargeable batteries, mobile phones being the most common. But then there are cameras, camcorders, music players, torches, hand held video games and remote controlled toys to name some.

What the multi-charge station does is create a place where all these devices can be charged tidily and safely in one place thus eliminating many different tangled wires and chargers cluttering kitchen worktops and other areas of the house.

This unit can be wall mounted, sat on a tabletop or worktop next one electric power point. The items being charged then sit safely in a recessed area on top of the box connected to the wire for that device which is pulled through the cut away in the back of the box lid, leaving the chargers and wires tidily inside and out of site.

All power going into the box passes through a circuit breaker to prevent the risk of any electric shock with a reset and test button.

An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the following drawings: Figure 1 shows the front view of the whole multi-charge station Figure 2 shows an internal view of the multi-charge station As shown in figure 1 the multi-charge station consists of a metal or plastic box, with an extended back 1, with holes 2 for wall mounts. The box lid 3 is hinged 4 at the front and has a recessed area 5 to safely place re-chargeable equipment. The box lid has cutaway holes 6 for the charger wires to be threaded through. The front of the box has electrical sockets 7 mounted on the exterior for wireless all in one chargers. The front of the box also has a RDC circuit breaker 8 for safety. The main power cable 9 goes in through the end of the box.

Figure 2 shows an internal view of the muhi-charge station with lid removed.

The mains electric cable I comes into the box from the back corner and then connects to the RDC circuit breaker 2. The cable 3 then joins into the back of the exterior sockets 4 and 5. An electric cable 6 then connects from the exterior socket 4 to bank of in line sockets 7. The area at the end of the box 8 is a separate storage compartment.
