Abstract

A two part book light is disclosed comprising a main unit (e) which clips (c) onto the bottom of a book, and a torch lamp head (a) that clips (b) onto the top of a book. The main body and lamp head are connected by an extendable and retractable power cord which is wound (under tension) onto a reel (2, figure 5) in main housing (e). The lamp head unit (a) comprises light emitting diodes connected to a power source (5, figure 5) contained in the main housing (e) via electrical wires contained inside the flexible cord (1, figure 5). When not in use, the extendable cord (1, figure 5) is fully retracted inside main unit (e) so as torch lamp head (a) sits on top of main unit (e) (see figure 3). When in use the torch lamp head (a) is extended from main unit (e) to the desired length to clip onto any sized book.

Description:
Extendable Corded booklight This invention relates to a device used to provide light for book reading.
When people need to read books like: Night Shift -Workers or persons sitting in bed who need to read documents or note book diarys at home or at work, they may well need a good source of light in low -level light conditions.
The use of a portable conventional book light involves moving the book light to turn the pages.
My proposed invention uses:LEDS' (light emitting -diodes) Clips' that operate around the book pages and attach to the cover, or which can clip around/or onto any object like a ring-binder -(A4.) A bendy electrical wire' that connects the torch head' to the Main Unit -it can then be moved up & down' by pressing the red button' To stop the bendy electrical wire' moving you release your finger from the red button' according to your booklringbinder/diary size. Retractable reel' that creates tention, and pulls and winds the bendy electrical wire' into the Main Unit' housing and coils around the Retractable reel'.

Background:
This invention relates to extendable Corded booklight.
When people read books at night time they often use a source of electrical lighting, like a conventional portable look light that sits in the middle of a book.
This is often awkward because turning the pages requires the book light to be moved from inside the -book.
Statement of invention:
To overcome this the present invention proposes to use a torch head with a retractable cord; which is attached to the main body which houses the torch.
Advantages: Because the torch has a retractable head it can be made to fit any size of book.
It clips onto the top left front page of any book and sits perfectly in place because it is light weight, thus not pulling the book down on the reader.

4. Electrical Circuit' Connects 9V battery to LEDs -(light emitting diodes) 5. 9 Volt battery' powers up to 6 LEDS' at any one time.
