Abstract

Feb. 2, 1924. inductances. - Electric inductances for highfrequency electric current are formed from one or more conductors spaced apart and mounted on an insulating strip or support having an apertured surface formed by perforations the total area of which is not less than half that of the total surface of the strip. The strip may be of perforated paper b, Fig. 3, or may be of cotton, silk or other woven material with the warp and weft strands spaced apart as shown in Fig. 2 to form the apertured surface, in which case the conductors may be woven into the fabric h in place of some of the wrap strands c. Conducting wires or strips a may be mounted on one or both sides of the strip b by cementing with shellac or by transverse, cemented, insulating strips or may be enclosed between two or more strips b to space the wires further apart when the strips are wound into a coil. The conductors may be arranged parallel to the edges of the strip or in regular or irregular waves at regular or varying distances from each side of the strip, for example, as shown in Fig. 3.
