237,481. Collen, R. H., and Broadwood & Sons, Ltd., J. Nov. 25, 1924. Pianofortes. sound boards and bridges for. -- The soundboard of a pianoforte is made in three distinct portions, each with its own bridge, and allocated respectively to the treble, middle, and bass or overstrung strings. The treble and middle soundboards A, B may be in the same plane and are provided with bridges a<2>, b<2>. The bass soundboard D, situated behind or below the other soundboards respectively in upright or grand pianofortes, has its bridge d<2> protruding through an aperture b<3> in the middle soundboard. The bars b<1> of the middle soundboard pass where necessary through slots in the bridge d<2>.
