Abstract
A cleaning fluid dispenser acting as the handle of a cleaning device such as a brush, mop, or duster comprises a refillable plastics reservoir provided with a pump-action spray. The filling aperture in the end of the reservoir may be sealed by a child-proof cap.
Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
REFILLABLE RESERVOIR TUBE AND SPRAY PROVISIONAL TITLE " THE TOILET WIZARD" Toilet brushes are a well-known method of cleaning the inside of a toilet pan usually using separate disinfectant cleaners or bleaches.
The main drawback of using either the brush or the cleaning fluids separately is that the brush does not, on its own, apply any means of removing bacteria from the area being cleaned. They can however, with a good design, reach under the rim for the removal of less resistant staining. The cleaning fluids on the other hand although may be effective in removing limescale and fighting bacteria, they can be difficult to apply to under rim areas of the toilet pan unless used in conjunction with a toilet brush.
The other problem, which arises with separate tools to clean toilets or any other domestic surface, is that of storage, where a brush and sometimes large quantities of dangerous liquids are left in cupboards or bathrooms with the obvious risks of children coming into contact with them.
According to the present invention there is provided an all in one system to apply cleaning fluids direct to the toilet brush head from a sealed reservoir which also acts as the brush handle. The unit comprises of a long cylindrical tube which acts as the reservoir with a child proof filler cap at one end and nozzles at the other end through which the liquids are pumped direct to the brush head. The pump action is situated within the tube and is operated by a plunger button positioned at a convenient point for use on the tube handle.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1. shows in perspective the brush complete with the reservoir attached.
Figure 2. shows the reservoir detached from the brush with a profile of the a) filler cap, b) nozzle. and c) reservoir tube and d) pump device.
Figure 3. Shows the internal profile of the reservoir with the parts shown in Figure 2 fitted.
Figure 4. shows the profile of the spray brush in use with the action of the cleaning liquid being sprayed onto the brush when the pump button is pressed.
Referring to the drawing, the invention comprises of a hollow plastic tube fitted with a filler cap at one end and at the opposite end with two stub nozzles either side of a central extension rod at the end of which the toilet brush is screwed on.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
The filler cap is of a standard design with a screw action similar to that of a medicine bottle cap, which wi II prevent its removal by young children.
The drawing shows the separate pump device which is fitted approximately 15cms from the rod end of the tube with piping leading from the two nozzles to a standard spray pump. The button operating this pump is shown leading out of the tube through a sealed valve to prevent leakage.
The use of the spray brush is based on the user holding the tube handle just above the pump button, so that when using the brush for cleaning in the normal way the button can be depressed to release two fine sprays of cleaning fluid onto the brush, as shown in Figure 4.

Claims (4)
- CLAIMS 1. A refillable reservoir tube and spray, which will deliver through the use of a spray pump. enclosed within it, a small quantity of cleaning fluid to a cleaning head.
- 2. A refillable reservoir tube and spray as claimed in Claim 1 which will act as a handle (in part or whole) to a brush or mop or adapted to any other cleaning tool.
- 3. A refillable reservoir tube and spray as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein the pressure exerted on the pump-button or trigger causes the spray pump enclosed within the tube to direct a spray of cleaning fluid through the internal piping and externally fitted nozzles onto the cleaning head.
- 4. A refillable reservoir tube and spray as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the tube is provided at the opposite end to the spray nozzles with a filler cap that can be designed to restrict access to the contents only to adults. 5 A refillable reservoir tube and spray substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawing.
