Abstract

235,237. Pantoflicek, B. June 9, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Ordnance, built up; ordnance design; ordnance breech mechanism.-A gun, adapted to be taken to pieces for transport, has a barrel of large calibre for firing a heavy projectile at short range, and a barrel of small calibre for firing armour-piercing projectiles. Both barrels are detachably connected to a breech bearing sliding in a cradle provided with recoil apparatus, so that when one barrel is fired the other barrel recoils also and increases the effective mass of the fired barrel. Both barrels are closed by a common breech-block which may be a falling wedge having a T cross-section. Firing mechanism is provided arranged so that only one of the barrels can be fired at a time. The gun is provided with two wheels and the necessary axle, a limber for the front part, a limber for the rear part and, in some cases, an intermediate, limber. The axle is hollow and contains the training mechanism. The front part of the limber supports the elevating mechanism. The gun may be provided with more than two barrels.
