Abstract

A battery charger for mobile phones is in the form of a free standing or wall mounted cabinet divided into four compartments each capable of accommodating five mobile phones so that up to twenty phones can be charged at the same time, within a half hour period. Four booster charger circuits are mounted at the back of the cabinet, with each charger circuit feeding one of the compartments. For connector reasons, the four compartments cater for respective makes of phone. Battery charging indicator lights for each charging position change from red to green when the corresponding phone is fully charged. The cabinet may have a lockable sliding or hinged door. The charger may be provided as a public facility in restaurants, sports or health clubs, colleges, or behind bars in pubs.

Description

Multi Charger (Mobile Phones) The invention relates to a public facility which is a mobile phone booster charger. Enabelling up to 20 mobile phones, to be charged up at the same time, within a half hour period. This unit would be situated: in restauraunts, in sports clubs or health clubs, colleges, behind bars in pubs or anywhere else the public frequent.
The phone may be needed in an emergency such as a buisness call, or of a personal nature or you could be waiting for an inportant call the phone maybe flat, but phone numbers are stored, in the mobile itself, so it needs to be charged up as soon as possible.
Helps people who rely on mobile phones for a living to carry on their normal buisness without any fuss or helps anyone in general who may need to be contacted.
This unit is of simple bookcase style it will be split into four compartments each compartment will hold five phones the connectors from the chargers will be fed through the back of the unit, five connectors into each compartment, one for each phone on the top of each compartment, will be five lights these are battery charge indicators, they will change from red to green when phone is fully charged this unit will have a perspex door either hinged or sliding. Lockable for security reasons.
This unit can be made of either wood, metal or plastic, whatever suits surroundings it can be wall mounted or free standing.
The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Fig 1 shows end view, which there are two of Fig 2 shows top view, there are two pieces this size, one of which will be used as the base.
Fig 3 shows strip which holds battery charge lights, there are two of these strips.
Fig 4 shows the back of the unit with four battery chargers fastened to it, it shows main electrical feed in also spurred of each charger is five wires going through the back of the unit into each compartment at the front. With connectors to suit.
Fig 5 shows front view As in figure 1 there are 2 end pieces these are joined to fig 2 which there are 2 of based on wooden construction these can either be dowelled or screwed together.
Once the outer case is constructed the inside should be divided into 4 compartments with the same material as the outer casing after which the back of the unit fig 4 can be fixed to the outer casing (screwed) holes are drilled into the rear of unit for charger wires to run through then charge lights and strip fig 3 can also be fastened to front of unit after which, all electrics can be fixed. Then perspex door.
N. B. Each compartment will only cater for one make of phone i. e.
Nokia Motorola Erikson NEC for connector reasons but unit can be enlarged if need be, to suit more makes.
