Abstract

234,303. Saunders, S. E. June 25, 1924. Pontoons.-Pontoons are constructed of sectional material so that the component parts are readily taken apart and can be packed flat for transport purposes. The component parts which usually comprise two sides f the bottom b, deck a and transverse framed bulkheads m are framed with wood e strengthened in certain cases with metal angle girders g. The skin comprises a wooden covering preferably the laminated wood construction described in Specification 105,412, [Class 145 (ii), Wood, Working]. The devices for securing the abutting members of the frame comprise bolts j, Fig. 6, which pass through the metal angle girders f as well as an interposed layer of rubber jointing.
