Sliding-jaw wrenches; wrench shanks; screwdrivers. - A combination hand - tool for motorists comprises a sliding-jaw wrench and a pair of pliers, in which one jaw of each tool is formed integrally with the handle or stock d of the tool, the shank of the adjustable spanner jaw e sliding in a lengthwise recess g in the stock. The second jaw a of the pliers is pivoted to the stock so that the meeting surfaces of the spanner jaws are perpendicular to the meeting surfaces of the plier jaws. Various other tools may be provided, such as a knife blade, pair of scissors, screwdriver, file or a set of feelers. The movable jaw e of the spanner has a screwed shank f, adjusted by a nut h, and is situated at the opposite end of the spanner handle d to the pair of pliers a, c, the member a of which is pivoted at b to the spanner handle. A screwdriver z and a file 2 are housed in compartments 3, 4 formed by a flanged plate 5 attached to the side of the handle. In use, the screwdriver or file is inserted in a socket 6 in the movable jaw e where it is held by a spring catch 7 engaging a recess 8 therein. The file and screwdriver may be replaced by tools of similar shape and size. In a modification, the file 2 and compartments 3, 4 are dispensed with, the screwdriver z being housed in a compartment between the feelers wand the handle d.
