Abstract

A surface box for providing services e.g. to recreational vehicles, comprises a fibreglass housing (8) bolted to a concrete base (10). Within the box are take-off connections (3, 4, 5) for various services e.g. electricity, as well as a connection for the receipt of waste-water/sewage etc. The housing is provided with a lockable lid and preferably contains an insulating material. <IMAGE>

Description

SUPERPITCH TOWER Combined, Direct Electrical/Water Supply and Waste Water/Sewage disposal system for Recreational Vehicles and Marine Vessels This invention relates to a Tower capable of supplying a mains electrical/water/television/telephone system and a waste water/sewage/chemical/effluent disposal system for recreational vehicles and marine vessels.
With the increasing use of recreational vehicles and marine vessels for leisure pursuits, the need arises for a facility capable of directly supplying mains electricity, mains water, television and telephone services to caravans, motorhomes, long distance coaches and marine vessels and the disposal of waste water, sewage, chemicals and effluent from such vehicles and vessels.
It therefore falls upon environmentally conscious caravan park owners, motorway service area managers and marina owners to provide proper facilities for these vehicles and vessels to be able to connect to the mains supply of electricity, water, television and telephone or any combination thereof, and to connect to the mains sewer, septic tank or any other holding vessel for the discharge of waste water, sewage, chemicals, effluent or any other waste material from the said vehicles.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure (1) shows a side elevation of the supply Tower, Figure (2) shows a part-section through the Tower showing the waste disposal system. Figure (3) shows a section through the Tower showing the electrical and water supply systems.
Referring to fig.3 (1) shows the main water supply a tee piece connects the Tower water supply with the mains, (25 shows the Tower water supply eminating from the take-off (3), (4) and (5) show the mains electricity, television and telephone cables connected to the take-off terminals (6) in the electricity compartment of the Tower (7), (8) shows the body of the Tower filled with insulating material (9), fixed to a concrete base (10) and capped with a cover (11) which houses the light (12) and terminal block. Lockable insulating doors (13) protect the take-off connections against frost, moisture and vandalism.
Referring to fig. 2 (14) shows the main sewer pipe connected to the disposal point on the Tower (15). A rubber self sealing valve (16) and anti personel flap (17) prevents sewer gasses escaping when the connection is not in use. A plug (18) which can only be removed with a special extracting tool provides extra safety from open sewer. The gas seal on the plug is by '0' ring to BS. The male hose connection (19) is sealed by a British Standard 'O' Ring and held in place by a bayonet adaptor to prevent accidental removal of the system. The positioning of the sewer inlet in the tower provides a water trap in the hose above ground thus preventing gasses from entering the mobile caravan, motorhome or marine vessel.

Claims (1)

  1. A direct system for the supply of mains electricity/water/television and telephone services and for the disposal of waste water/sewage/chemicals and effluent to and from recreational vehicles and marine vessels comprising: A fibreglass housing, hereto referred to as a 'Tower' is bolted to a concrete base with suitable fixings. The Tower has two supply compartments on opposite sides and a plug-in discharge compartment. The supply compartments are closed off from the elements with insulated lockable doors. The waste/sewer discharge compartment has a self sealing rubber valve antipersonnel flap and sealing plug to effectively seal off the sewer. The top of the Tower has a clear cover which houses a fluorescent light for low level illumination through the hours of darkness and a photo electric cell for automatic operation.
Electrical/water/television and telephone connections couple to the Tower to the mains supply.
A waste water/sewage discharge connection couples the Tower to the main sewer or collecting tank.
A compartment on one side of the Tower houses the water supply with take-off coupling, pressure reducing valve, drain and combined non-return and isolation valve. This compartment is completely isolated from the compartment on the opposite side, which houses the take-off connections for the main electricity, television and telephone supply.
A totally isolated compartment at the bottom of the Tower, on an adjacent side to the water and electrical connections, houses the waste water/sewage discharge connection which is sealed when not in use against smells or access to the sewer by way of a rubber self sealing valve, flap and plug.
The Tower is filled with insulated material to protect against frost.
