Abstract

A wrist watch (1) is provided with a strap or bracelet (2a, 2b) the faces of which have a mutually different appearance, and the strap or bracelet is reversible relative to the wrist watch so that alternatively one face or the other may be displayed. Pivot links (5a, 5b) allow the strap to be rotated relative the watch and clasp (3a). <IMAGE>

Description

WRIST WATCH AND WRIST WATCH STRAP OR BRACELET The present invention relates to wrist watches and to wrist watch straps or bracelets.
Fashion conscious persons who like to wear matching accessories with their outfits face a particular difficulty in relation to wrist watches and wrist watch straps and bracelets.
Purchase of a selection of different wrist watches and straps or bracelets with different ornamentation is expensive. Changing the straps or bracelets to match different outfits is time consuming and awkward. As a result the user is often confined to the use of just one wrist watch and strap or bracelet.
The present invention provides a wrist watch and strap or bracelet in which the two faces of the strap or bracelet have a mutually different appearance, and the strap is reversible so that alternatively one face or the other may be displayed.
A wrist watch and strap or bracelet in accordance with the invention allows the user to change the appearance. For example, a metal bracelet may have one side gold coloured and the other side silver coloured. A leather or imitation leather strap may have one side black in colour and the other side brown in colour.
The invention will now be described more particularly by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings which show, by way of example only, one arrangement of wrist watch and bracelet according to the invention. In the drawings: Figures 1A, 1B and 1C are plan views of the arrangement showing the bracelet before rotation, during rotation, and after rotation respectively; and Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view on a larger scale of a part of the wrist watch and bracelet arrangement, illustrating the rotational mechanism.
Referring to the drawings, the arrangement comprises a wrist watch 1, a metal bracelet 2a, 2b and a clasp 3a, 3b.
Referring to Figure lB, the bracelet 2a, 2b may be rotated relative to the watch 1 and the clasp 3a, 3b. Figure 1C shows the bracelet 2a, 2b after rotation so that the other face which has a different appearance is presented.
Referring to the Figure 2, the mechanism for allowing rotation comprises anchor links 4a, 4b for attaching to the clasp 3a and the watch 1 respectively, pivot links 5a and 5b connected to the anchor links 4a and 4b respectively, and pins 6 connecting the pivot links 5a and 5b to the remainder of the bracelet 2a.

Claims (4)

1. A wrist watch strap or bracelet in which the two faces of the strap or bracelet have a mutually different appearance, and the strap or bracelet is reversible relative to the wrist watch so that alternatively one face or the other of the strap or bracelet may be displayed.
2. A wrist watch and strap or bracelet according to claim 1, in which the watch and strap or bracelet are connected to one another by pivot joints which allow the strap or bracelet to be rotated relative to the watch.
3. A wrist watch strap or bracelet generally as herein described, with reference to or as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
4. Any novel combination or sub-combination disclosed and/or illustrated herein.
