Abstract
A rod rest comprises a light source by means of which the rod-receiving arms can be illuminated to enable ready location of the rest at night.
Description
DARK ROD REST
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A DARK ROD REST
ROD RESTS ARE A WELL KNOWN SUPPORT FOR A FISHING ROD CONSISTING
OF AT THE TOP THERE ARE TWO ARMS WHICH PROJECT FROM A BODY
WHICH IN TURN IS LOCATED AT ITS BASE ON A SHAFT BY MEANS OF A
THREADED BOLT. THE SHAFT BEING THE PART gEAT PENETRATES THE GROUND VERTICALLY THE ARMS WHICH PROJECT UPWARDS ARE AT OPPOSIT
ANGLES GIVING A V SHAPE AFFECT, THE ROD RESTS BETWEEN AND AT
THE BOTTOM OF THESE ARMS. THE BODY JOINS THE ARMS TO THE
THREADED BOLT WHICH IN TURN CONNECTS TO THE SHAFT.
ROD RESTS ARE A NECESSARY PICE OF FISHING EQUIPMENT THAY ARE
USED TO SUPPORT THE FISHING ROD AT THE CORRECT ATTITUDE PREVENT
ING IT FALLING INTO THE WATER OR THE LINE TANGLING ON REEDS
OR GRASS. WHEN NIGHT FISHING THE ROD REST BECOMES DIFFICULT TO
DEFINE IN THE DARK AND IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO LOCATE THE ROD
ONTO THE REST.
ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION THERE IS A NIGHT ROD REST
CONSISTING OF A ROD REST BEING ADAPTED TO ILLUMINATE AT AND
AROUND THE POINT WHERE THE ROD REST.
A SPECIEIC-EiwMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED
BY WAY OF EXAMPLE WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
IN WHICH
FIGURE 1 SHOWS FRONTAL VIEW OF COMPLETE ROD REST
FIGURE 2 ILLUSTRATES THE SEPARATION OF ACCESS PLATE
REFERRING TO THE DRAWING THE REST COMPRISES OF A BODY 2 WHICH
INTERNALLY HOUSES LIGHT SOURCE AND OR POWER SUPPLY THE BODY 2
AT ITS BASE HAS A THREADED BOLT3 SECURELY FIXED TO SAID BODY 2
FOR CONNECTION TO A SHAFT.PROJECTING FROM BODY 2 ARE NO LESS
THAN TWO ARMS 1 PRODUCING A FORM SUITABLE FOR SUPPORTING A
FISHING ROD THESE ARMS BEING SECURELY FIXED TO BODY 2 .THE
BODY 2 HOUSING LIGHT SOURCE AND OR POWER SUPPLY MAY HAVE ONE
OR MORE ACCESS PLATES OR SIMILAR MEANS OF ENTRY INTO BODY 2
BUT HERE BY EXAMPLE AN ACCESS PLATE 4 IS FITTED WHICH ALLOWS
ACCESS TO INTERNAL AREAS ACCESS PLATE 4 BEING A MEANS OF ENTRY
FOR REPLACING OR RENEWING LIGHT SOURCE OR POWER SUPPLY.SAID
ACCESS PLATE BEING RELEASABLE BY MEANS OF FOR EXAMPLE TONG
AND GROOVED EDGES (NOT SHOWN)
IN ORDER FOR THIS INVENTION TO WORK ALL OR PART OF THE ARMS 1 OF THE DARK ROD REST MUST BE ^4ADE UP OF ONE OR MORE COMPONENT
S WHICH ARE MADE OF A MATERIAL OR COMBINATION OF MATERIALS
WHICH ALLOWS LIGHT TO TRAVEL ALONG AND THROUGH THEAS ARMS 1
AND ILLUMINATES ITS INNER AND OR OUTER SURFACES BY THE MEANS
OF ONE OR MORE ELECTRICAL OR CHEMICAL LIGHT SOURCE, THUS
ALLOWING THE ARMS 1 TO GLOW WHOLLY OR PARTLY WITHIN ITS ENTIRE FORII WHETHER LIGHT SOURCE IS LOCATED AT THE BASE OF THE ARMS f OR PLACED AT ANY LOCATION OF SAID ARMS f CAUSING ALL OR PART
OF ARMS 1 TO EMIT LIGHT.
THE LIGHT SOURCE FOR EXAMPLE IN FIG f IS INSTALLED WHITHIN
BODY 2 AMD AT THE BASE OF ARMS 1 WHICH ALLOWS LIGHT TO TRAVEL
FROM LIGHT SOURCE DIRECTLY THROHGX AND ALONG ARMS 1 CAUSING
SAID ARMS 1 TO ILLUHINATE. LIGHT SOURCE IN THIS CASE (NOT SHOWN).
Claims (4)
1 A DARK ROD REST COMPRISING OF THE ARMS BEING SO DESIGNED
AS TO TRANSMIT LIGHT AT PART OR ALL OF ITS SURFACES.
2 A DARK ROD REST CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 WHEREIN BY MEANS OF A
LIGHT SOURCE OF ELECTRICAL OR CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OR A COMBINATION OF EITHER MAY BE POSITIONED ON IN OR AROUND THE
AREA OF THE ARMS CAUSING THE ARMS TO BECOME ILLUMINATED AND
GIVE OF LIGHT.
3 A DARK ROD REST AS CLAIMED IN 1 OR 2 WHEREIN THE BODY
BEING DESIGHNED TO INTERNALLY CARRY A LIGHT SOURCE AND OR POWER
SUPPLY ItT TURN WHICH MAY ILLUMINATE ARMS OR BODY OR BOTH.
4 A BARK ROB REST AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 3 WHEREIN TAB BODY
BEING DESIGNED TO ACCOMODATE SOME FORM OF ACCESS TO INTERNAL
LIGHT SOURCE OR POWER SUPPLY WITHIN.
