Abstract
A pressure sensing apparatus for sensing cyclically varying pressure in a pipe, e.g. a fuel line comprises a pair of similar sensing members 307 each shaped to embrace a pipe over an arc ed and to make line contact with the pipe at two spaced locations. Piezoelectric transducers 308, one on each member, provide equal and opposite electrical signals in dependence on bending strain in the members 307 due to period dilation of the pipe. The sensing members are blocks located in holders 301 by an epoxy resin 313. Alternatively the blocks may be integral with the holders a cavity behind each block being filled with an epoxy resin. The two holders may be hinged together. <IMAGE>
