Abstract

A suction control device, particularly for a screw compressor with oil injection, comprises a valve element (4) for closing a suction line (3) so as to unload the compressor, and a piston (10) in a cylinder (6) for moving the valve element (4) to its closed position against the restoring force of e.g. a compression spring (12), when acted on by the pressure of a fluid applied through a line (13). To conserve space the cylinder is surrounded by an annular filter (2) for the air drawn into the suction line. The valve element may be comprised in the piston, Fig. 2 (not shown). <IMAGE>
