Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for constant- weight feeding of particulate material comprising: a chamber 5 having an adjustably controlled outlet 27, and an inlet controlled by a valve 7 which is operable to feed particulate material into said chamber at a rate sufficient to maintain said chamber full of said particulate material; means for moving particulate material from the chamber through said outlet, and comprising a non-weighing portion of a constant-weight conveyor 19 for conducting material from said outlet; and control means for controlling said outlet in dependence upon the amount of particulate material on a weighing length 29 of said constant- weight conveyor. <IMAGE>
