Abstract

A wrapping apparatus includes a turntable (16) onto which an article (A), being wrapped, is pushed through a suspended sheet (S) of wrapping material. As the article moves onto the turntable, a leading portion (L) of the sheet is tucked under the article between it and the turntable and the sheet is draped over the article to cover its top face, its leading face and its trailing face with a trailing portion of the sheet hanging down below the turntable. The turntable is rotated through 90 DEG or 180 DEG , and the article is then pushed off the turntable by a pusher or by the next article onto another support such as a conveyor causing the trailing portion to be tucked under the article and overlapped with the previously tucked leading portion (L). The wrapped article can pass into a heat shrink tunnel (18). <IMAGE>
