Abstract

Helical springs; vibration - dampers; connexions and attachments applicable generally for tensile and compressive springs.-Consists in eliminating irregular angular velocity in the transmission of rotary motion by combining a spring or elastic drive with a spring-controlled frictional damper. As applied to a gear-wheel, Fig. 1, or to a shaft coupling, Fig. 4, spring or elastic buffers c are interposed between alternating lugs a<1>, b<1> on the shaft and wheel. Mounted on the shaft by means of castellations a<2> are friction disks d alternating with corresponding disks e similarly mounted in the wheel b. The disks are kept in contact by one or more springs f operating between a suitablyshaped disk f<1> and an end cover-plate.
