Abstract

Reservoir pens.-In reservoir pens of the kind filled by the suction produced by a sliding cap, the cap is formed in two portions, a cap proper F, having a top opening f, and a slider F<1>, which fits over and is normally connected by a screw G to the part F, but which is slidable on the part F for the purpose of creating a suction. The rear end of the barrel is closed by means of a valve comprising a centrallybored ping D, having a conical face d<1>, and a screw-cover E, having a corresponding conical recess e and an off-centre duct e<1>, the bore d<2> and duct e<1> being placed in or out of communication by unscrewing or screwing the cover E. When the pen is to be filled the cover E is unscrewed slightly, the cap is placed on the pen, the lower end of the pen is placed in the ink, and the slider F<1> is drawn along the cap F; the cap is then quickly removed and the cover E screwed up. The interior and exterior surfaces of the slider F<1> and cap F respectively may be provided with metallic linings, and suitable packing G<1> may be arranged between the cap and the slider.
