Abstract

190,934. English Electric Co., Ltd., Howard, J. W., and Richardson, J. A. St. C. Feb. 1, 1922. Polyphase transformers.-In a polyphase transformer in which magnetic masses 10 are inserted between the primary and secondary windings to increase the reactance, the yokes 11 of the transformer core are provided with magnetic extensions 14 which embrace the projecting ends of the windings and the magnetic masses on the outer limbs of the core in order to produce symmetrical leakage conditions for all the phases. The laminations forming the yokes may be stamped out with integral extensions, or separate extensionsmay be bolted or otherwise secured to the yokes.
