Elevated railways; rope railways. - Ropeway carriers D are transferred from a ropeway station E on to a rigid track C shaped to receive the carriers and are hauled by a tractor B running on a suspended rail A or may be integral with it. The transfer may be effected by means of points F<3>, F<4>, F<5>, or turntables.
