Golf clubs; handles.- Relates to golf clubs, cricket bats, tennis rackets, and the like of the kind wherein the weight and balance may be varied by means of adjustable weights mounted on a stem which is provided with a cap and fits into a cavity in the club &c. The invention consists in providing one or more screwthreaded nuts, adjustable on the stem for holding the weights in position. As applied to the head of a golf club, Fig. 1, a series of weights e of equal or varying size are secured upon the stem d by lock-nuts h, and the cavity is closed by the screwed cap g. The weights e may be slotted to enable them to be slipped laterally on to the rod, or they may screw on to the rod. The weights may be arranged parallel to the striking face of the club or at an angle thereto. The device may be applied to the handle of the club. In the form shown in Fig. 8 a cylindrical casing k is secured in the club head by screws l, prongs m, or by expanding an annular portion of the casing, and the weights e are secured on the stem d<3> by a nut h. The weights may be of composite form, for example, partly aluminium and partly lead. In Fig. 15 the handle of a tennis racket is shown with a central bore closed by a screw plug g<3> to which is swivelled or rigidly attached a rod d<4> carrying the weights e locked bv nuts h'.
