1534087 Improving tea colour and flavour SOUTHWARK THAMESIDE Ltd and COCA-COLA CO 23 Aug 1977 [27 Aug 1976] 35832/76 Heading A2B The colour and flavour of tea are enhanced by treating black, oolong or instant tea, at any stage during its manufacture or infusion or prior to plucking, with an aluminium compound. The tea must not be decaffeinated. The aluminium compound may be aluminium sulphate, chloride or nitrate, potassium aluminium sulphate, potassium or sodium aluminate or ash from burnt mature tea leaves, and is added to provide 60-4800 ppm Al based on the dry weight of total tea solids.
