1527482 Selective printing SINGER CO 19 Jan 1977 02129/77 Heading B6F A single motor 24 powers movement of print head carriage 18 and transport of record medium 22. The lead screw 20 is continuously coupled to the motor 24; clutch 48 selectively couples the platen 12 and tractors 34 to the motor 24. Other arrangements omit the tractors 34, or provide two pairs of tractors or provide split platens or permit bidirectional printing.
