Abstract

1524514 Tyre inflation apparatus D WAUDBY 16 Oct 1975 [19 June 1974] 31999/74 Heading B7C Apparatus for inflating a pneumatic tyre subsequent to fitting of the tyre on a wheel, comprises a support 10 for the tyre and wheel assembly, an arm 17 pivoted at 18 to a channelsection beam 15 secured to a wail or bolted to a floor, a guard 24 and a ratchet bar 27 pivotally mounted on the arm, a pin 14 secured to the support for engaging with a ratchet tooth to cause the tyre and wheel assembly to be secured on the support by the guard, and a compressed air pipe 30 carried by the arm and attachable to the tyre (or inner tube) inflation valve. The arm 17 is retained in an inoperative position by a manually releasable latch 22 engaging handle 23, and springs 20 bias the arm towards its inoperative position. The guard is slidable upwardly relative to pivot pin 26 against bias of compression springs 25c.
