Abstract

1505553 Electro-chemical electrode ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES ASSOCIATES Inc 25 Feb 1975 [1 March 1974] 7813/75 Heading G1N An electrode for use in electrolytic testing comprises a hollow cylinder made completely or substantially of graphite and impregnated with an insulating material so that graphite points at the surface are electrically separated. The graphite points may be amalgamated with mercury and the impregnant may be paraffin wax. The electrode 40 may be used in anode stripping voltometry (suitable circuitry being described) and preferably comprises a stirrer 29 with drive-shaft 28 passing through the cylinder and partitions 35 dividing the cylinder internally. The outer surface of the electrode may be provided with an insulating coating.
