Abstract

1502379 Pistons A-T-O Inc 30 Sept 1975 [3 Feb 1975] 40010/75 Heading F2T A deformable expander ring 28, used with a non-deformable annular seal 24, 26 in a groove in a reciprocating member 12, has rounded clearance surfaces 56 and re-entrant corners adjacent the inner circumference, the seal having axially short inner surfaces providing clearance 58 between them and the groove base and has tapering sides 38 to the recess housing the expander ring. The seal may be in two parts and of nylon and the expander of neoprene.
