Abstract
The invention relates to a jet engine unit for a vertical or short take off aircraft comprising a main gas turbine engine 12 to 20, of the ducted fan type powering main steerable nozzles 22, 23 and one or more auxiliary gas turbine engines 24, actuated by the pressurised air originating from the fan duct 14 of the main engine, and acting via steerable auxiliary nozzles 28 arranged upstream of the main nozzles. The unit according to the invention improves the balancing of the thrusts and reduces the fuel consumption. <IMAGE>
