Abstract

1438825 Mower support G SCHUHMACHER II and G SCHUHMACHER 3 Aug 1973 [24 Aug 1972] 36903/73 Heading A1F A ground support for a mower consists of a skid 3, a support leg 2 and a crop lifting leg 18. The ends of the skid 3 are bent upwards in the manner of a ski, the forward end tapering to a point. The skid is arcuate in lateral cross section Fig. 2 (not shown) and a point of contact between skid and support leg lies within the central third of the skid's length. The rear of the skid lies substantially directly below the rear of the support leg so as to lie behind the cutter line of the mower. The support leg is fixed at its upper end to the cutter beam 7 by means of a bolt 6 and suspended in a tensile state on the point of a mower finger 1 by means of a bracket 8.
