Abstract

1436468 Diapers COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 31 July 1973 [21 Aug 1972] 36431/73 Heading A5R A disposable diaper comprising a multi-layer composite of absorbent and non-absorbent sheet material has portions 20 along opposite side edges transversely pleated to provide extensible borders to encircle the legs of the wearer. The other opposite edges may also be pleated to provide an extensible waist line. The composite may comprise a plastics backing sheet, a central layer of absorbent 'fluff' and an overlying non-woven fabric sheet. The edges of the plastics sheet may enfold the side edges of the fabric sheet or be sealed thereto faceto-face.
