Abstract

1431626 Bearings FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 29 March 1974 [11 April 1973] 13935/74 Heading F2A A bearing assembly comprises a housing having a bearing bracket 3, a bearing cap 4 secured to the housing at the location of the bracket 3, and a shaft 1 supported for rotation between the bracket 3 and the cap 4, wherein a machined thrust ring seating 5 is provided in the bracket 3 and/or in the cap 4 and wherein a half thrust-ring 6 is positioned in the seating 5, said thrust-ring 6 having a tag 7 which projects radially or axially from one end and is received in a recess 8 in either the bracket 3 or the cap 4. There may be two identical half thrust-rings 6, located on opposite faces of the bracket 3 with their tags 7 diametrically opposed.
