Abstract

1428253 Cleaning pipes PROEKTNOKONSTRUKT BJURO ELEKTROGIDRAVLIKI AKAD NAUK UKRAIN SSR 3 May 1973 20988/73 Heading F2N [Also in Divisions H1 and H3-H5] A shock wave, created by electric impulse discharge between central electrode 7 and annular electrode 1, travels through a fluidfilled pipe 3 to elastically deform the pipe walls and thus to free deposits adhering to the pipe. A frusto-conical member 2 connects the electrode assembly to the pipe. The fluid is supplied via manifold 8 and apertures 9. A series of shock waves may be generated. The dislodged deposits are washed away by fluid flow through the pipe resulting from plasma generation and continued introduction of fluid at 8/9.
