Abstract
1417211 Torsion springs GUSTAV F GERDTS KG 19 Sept 1973 [28 Oct 1972] 43953/73 Heading F2S A spring device has two relatively movable components 8, 9 and a helical torsion spring 1 with lever arms 4, 5 extending from its ends transversely to the axis 3 of the coil 2 and being so formed that when unstressed, Fig. 2 (not shown), an angle α between the arms 4, 5, is greater than 180 degrees but during installation is reduced to less than 180 degrees, the reduction in angle producing a reduction in the diameter of the coil 2. The arms 4, 5 may have fixing eyes 6, 7, which lie in the same plane.
