Abstract

1413997 Partition walls WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 11 Dec 1972 [23 Dec 1971] 57007/72 Heading E1W [Also in Division A4] In a space dividing system a post 10 for supporting and connecting panels of different heights comprises axially aligned tubular bodies 12, 42 the ends of which are closed by members 14, 18, 44 and 48 providing annular slots 22, 32 and 43 for engagement by hooks 58, 60 and 70 on the panels, the post members being interconnected by a capped stud 28. The members 14, 18, 44, 48 are a force fit in the tubular bodies 12, 42, and the member 18 may be in two parts as shown or an integral member and it is fitted with a threaded leveller foot 38 or a caster (not shown). The panels 50, 52 have channel edge members 56 with notches 66 for receiving hooked brackets 86 supporting book shelves, cabinets or desk tops 88. The bodies 12, 42 are of cold rolled steel with a vinyl coating, the members 14, 18, 44, 48 and the stud cap 26 are of rigid P.V.C., and the panels have a honeycomb core 80 coated with a decorative laminate 82.
