1493384 Brake-operating mechanisms; drum brakes CENTRAX Ltd 4 Feb 1975 [4 Feb 1974] 04975/74 Heading F2E A brake-operating mechanism comprises a pair of aligned transmission elements 11, 12 mounted in guides, a wedge element 21 having a wedge part 22 between the transmission elements, complementarily-inclined surfaces 15, 16, on the transmission elements and 19, 20, on the wedge part, a roller 17 or 18 between each transmission element and the wedge part, coil spring means 31 through which the wedge element passes and which bias the wedge element axially in one direction, and a roller carrier 50 which is supported on the spring means and attached thereto at a point along the length thereof which has a displacement during axial movement of the wedge element which is half that of the wedge element.
