Abstract

1492305 Trays REED INTERNATIONAL Ltd 2 April 1976 [2 May 1975] 18521/75 Heading B8P A tray formed from a blank, e.g. of carton board comprises a base panel 1 and side wall panels 2, 3 connected by gusset-forming panels 12, the erected walls being of double thickness and including an opposed pair of walls 3 having edges inclined from the corners of the tray towards the base 1. Strips 7, 11 engage the base 1 with the walls in erected condition, and the gusset panels 12 may be folded between the doubled-over portions of the wall panels 2, which fold about straight edges 6. A transparent plastics lid, Fig. 3 (not shown), may include side walls 15 which fit between the tray walls 3, having V-shaped extensions (17) for retention by single-thickness areas 13 of the walls 3. A lid may, further, be formed integrally with the tray. Alternatively, Fig. 5 (not shown) a machine erectable blank may have the wall portions 2 initially folded over and adhered to one another, the panels 12 being accommodated between the doubled-over portions of the walls 3. Further, Fig. 5 (not shown), the opposed walls 2 may differ in length, the base 1 being trapezium-shaped.
