Abstract
1481315 A rotatable device for winding tape on to bobbins TEKMA KINOMAT SpA 9 July 1974 30423/74 Heading B8G A taping device for winding tape around a bobbin comprises a support plate mounted for rotation about a winding axis and carrying tape reel mounting means and first and second guide means, the tape extending from the second guide means to the first guide means in a plane perpendicular to the winding axis, and from the tape reel to the second guide means in a path transverse to the plane. In the embodiment shown, Fig. 1, shaft 17 rotates crank arm 39 so that shaft 40, plate 41 and a plate-mounted tape reel rotate to wind tape on turret-mounted bobbin B. The adhesive tape runs, Fig. 3, from the reel 46 towards the turret, and is turned by roller 52 towards the bobbin. The tape then twists about its axis through 90 degrees, Fig. 5, runs between indented roller 54 and spring-biased roller 53, and is pressed by projection 45 on to the bobbin. Alternatively, Fig. 4, the tape is turned by fixed, smooth cylinder 65 inclined at 45 degrees to the arriving tape, and then passes, Fig. 6, under spring- biased, pivotable projection 67 on to the bobbin. In a rest position, projection 67 clamps the tape against projection 69. Motor 3 rotates shaft 17 via belt 16a and rotates disengagable cam drum 22 carrying machine-controlling disc cams 23. Machine operation.-To start winding, shaft 17 is held by latch 31, the rotation of pulley 16b by the belt causing slip at shaft friction discs 18, 19. Cam 23A is rotated to swing arm 12 via roller 13 so that arm-supported shaft 17 becomes coaxial with the bobbin. A jack is then actuated to pivot plate 41 about shaft 40 so that projection 43 or 67 presses tape against the bobbin. Jack 71 then lowers pad 73 to clamp the tape to the bobbin. Latch 31 is electromagnetically disengaged, shaft 17 rotates, and one turn of tape is wound on the bobbin while pad 73 is withdrawn. Latch 31 is then reengaged. Cam 23A swings arm 12 away from the bobbin, and jack 33 raises knife 35 to cut the tape between the bobbin and projection 45 or 67. Plate 41 is then back-pivoted on shaft 40, and arm 12 swung towards the bobbin so that roller 59, Fig. 5, presses on the bobbin. Latch 31 is disengaged and shaft 17 rotated so that roller 59 presses the tape on to the bobbin. Latch 31 is then re-engaged, and arm 12 swung from the bobbin. The machine is then stopped, and a signal permitting the turning of the bobbinbearing turret (see Fig. 3) is produced. If more than one turn of tape is to be wound, then immediately after the first turn the cam drum is disconnected from the motor by electromagnetic unit 11, and the drum is locked against rotation. An electronic control unit then controls the machine, disengaging latch 31 and counting the turns of tape using signals provided by microswitch 74 actuated by tooth 75 turning with shaft 17. When the correct number of turns has been made, the control unit reengages latch 31 and reconnects the cam drum. The previously described finish winding operations then takes place. The tape reel is adjustably braked by spring- biased disc 47. One of the rollers 52, 53, 54 may have a ratchet to prevent the tape running backwards. The jacks are pneumatically operated. Micro-switch 25 is constantly switched by gear 24 rotating with the tape reel, so that if the tape breaks or runs out, the lack of signals from the switch stops the motor.
