Abstract
1470947 Blow moulding multilayer containers DAIWA CAN CO Ltd 24 June 1975 [29 June 1974] 26709/75 Heading B5A To improve the surface finish of an extrusion blow-moulded container, the container is blown from a parison having a main layer at a temperature suitable for blow moulding and an outer layer at a temperature above that at which it could be satisfactorily blow moulded on its own but below that at which it would be substantially drawn down on the main layer during blowing. Parisons of two or more layers of polyethylene, polypropylene or nylon, with a relatively thin outer layer hotter than the main layers, produce higher lustre, lower surface roughness, and greater transparency than similar parisons with all the layers at the same temperature.
