1466255 Hydraulic dampers ENGINEERING ADVISORY & DEVELOPMENT Ltd and J A SUMNER 23 May 1974 [23 May 1973] 24572/73 Heading F2S [Also in Division B3] Hydraulic dampers for a casting machine (see Group B3) have a lost motion to allow an initial substantial quantity of metal to be poured followed by a controlled pouring. The initial lost motion may be allowed by a plate 114, Fig. 3, sliding on rods 116 between limiting plates 118, 120 (the controlled movement being by fluid passing through a closable valve 110) or by a piston 128, Fig. 4, sliding in a cylinder 126 or by a piston 106, Fig. 5A, sliding on its rod 138 between stops 136, 148.
