Abstract

1459423 Fastener releasing tools AVDEL Ltd 13 Feb 1974 [13 Feb 1973] 7001/73 Heading B3N A tool for releasing a fastener of the type having a rotatable stud portion within a sleeve like body, the tool comprising a body portion 31 within which is reciprocatable a plunger 36 located in a bore in the body, a stud engaging region 43 at the end of the plunger and a sleeve engaging region 35 at the end of the body and a transverse pin 37 extending across the body to engage in a transverse slot 38 in the plunger to permit its axial reciprocatable movement but to prevent its rotation relative to the sleeve. In use the region 35 at the end of the body engages the sleeve of the fastener and the plunger region 43, e.g. a pin engages in an appropriate region of the stud, rotation of the tool effecting rotation of the stud relative to the sleeve to effect its release.
