Abstract

1451248 Two-part couplings A PFEUTY 8 Oct 1974 [8 Oct 1973] 43469/74 Heading H2E Each part of a two-part coupling comprises an identical parallelepipedal plastics body providing a conduit, a plug contact in one body and a socket contact in the other body and U- shape guide elements on each body to guide the bodies together on mating, each body having means for it to be assembled to at least one other identical body in side-by-side relation. Identical bodies 1 and 1A each have two conduits 11, 21 and 11A, 21A holding a respective male and female contact 7, 8 and 7A, 8A, by means of resilient tongues 7, (22 and 7A, 22A). The conduits 11, 11A each extend into a U-shape appendage which matches a complementary appendage 25A, 25 of the conduits 21A, 21. Side-by-side assembly of identical bodies is achieved by interlocking tongues 36 and grooves 32 and end hooks 38.
