Abstract

1451111 Laminated panels C HEMMINGS & CO Ltd 4 Dec 1974 [11 Dec 1973] 57438/73 Addition to 1041657 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions E1-E2 and F3-F4] A heat-insulating panel for a cold store, comprising facing sheets 10, 11, e.g. metal, metal alloy, plywood, hardboard bonded to a rigid foamed core 12, e.g. polyurethane, is provided at its side edges with parts which interfit when a plurality of panels are assembled edge-to-edge and with the elements of locking devices which can be made to interlock and draw together adjacent panels, thus compressing a resilient gasket 40, e.g. fibreglass, neoprene, provided on at least one side edge of the panel. As shown, the locking device comprises a catch 21, pivoted at 22 by a key, engaging a pin 31. On the catch and pin enga ing, the panels are drawn together by the action of an eccentric. The catch and pin are disposed in housings 20, 30 which shaped to define an interfitting tongue and groove (the remainder of the panel edges being correspondingly shaped) and whose side portions may be provided with apertures for bolts securing the panel to a support or mounting members on the panel walls. The facing sheets may be provided with flanges 10a, 11a, beaded at 13.
