Abstract

1443128 Cleaning electro-photographic surfaces XEROX CORP 2 May 1974 [3 May 1973 (2)] 19241/74 Heading G2H Residual toner 16 is removed from photoconductive surface 14 as drum 12 turns by blade 19, which is made up of a flexible strip 20 and an elastomeric tip piece 24. Preferably the strip 20 is of stainless steel, and resiliently biases the tip piece against surface 14. Backing blade 46 may be held in the same mount as the strip 20, and assist the bias. Either the strip 20 or the backing blade 46 may be used to apply a voltage to the tip 24.
