Abstract

1441383 Container closures J A DANCKER 29 June 1973 [18 July 1972] 33521/72 Heading B8T A safety stopper consists of a tubular member 10, made of resilient material, open at one end and closed at the other. To the closed end 11 is attached a rigid member 15 coaxially mounted. The open end of member 10 has on outwardly extending flange 13. As shown the rigid member 15 is integral with a flexible skirt 18. In order to remove the stopper, the rigid member is depressed, thus applying axial tension to the member 10 causing it to contract radially. The skirt 18 must then be compressed radially at a level below the flange 13, so retaining the tensile state of member 10 and enabling the stopper to be withdrawn.
