Abstract
1335914 Dispensing liquids DISTILLERS CO (CARBON DIOXIDE) Ltd 12 June 1972 [10 June 1971] 19856/71 Heading A4T [Also in Division F1] A system for dispensing beverages, e. g. beer, from a container in which the beverage is stored under a top pressure of carbon dioxide, comprises means for connecting a pressurized source of CO 2 with the container, the means including an electrically operated valve which is normally closed, the system also including an electrical control circuit effective to open the valve when an actuator which initiates dispensing is operated, the circuit also including a timing device to retain the valve open for a set time each time the actuator is operated. The electrical control circuit may have a capacitor-resistor combination as the timing device, the resistor being variable to vary the set period, and the valve is opened by a solenoid under the control of a relay actuated by a transistor. The circuit may be so arranged that the opening of the valve is delayed for a period after operation of the actuator. The beer may be dispersed by the top pressure or by a pump.
