Abstract
1334112 Hay making machines; couplings P W ZWEEGERS 12 Jan 1971 [14 Jan 1970] 1492/71 Headings A1F and A1P An agricultural implement, e.g. a haymaker having tined rotors 3, comprises a frame 1 on ground wheels 2 and a hitch part 5 for connection to the lifting device of a tractor. Frame 1 and hitch part 5 are connected at a vertical pivot 4 and at least one 'spring 8 extends between them in such a way as to permit rocking of the implement about pivot 4 when being towed over the ground but to hold the frame 1 stably when lifted clear of the ground. Spring 8 may be a compression spring through which passes a rod (Fig. 1) which is pivoted to the hitch part at one end and is slidable through a bushing 7 at the other. The implement is' asymmetrical so that, when lifted, it rocks in the direction tending to compress spring 8. In a modification, Fig. 3, an implement which is symmetrical, and thus likely to tilt in either direction when lifted, is provided with two springs 9, 10.
