Abstract
1327982 Discharging molten metal ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 19 Jan 1971 [20 Jan 1970] 2537/71 Heading F4B [Also in Division H2] In a container for molten metal according to the parent patent the ratio of the pole pitch to the diameter of the coils is arranged to lie between 0À8 and 2. In addition, the bore of the outlet pipe of the container is arranged to lie between 0À1 #p and 0À3 #p where p is the resistivity of the molten metal in ohm. mm<SP>2</SP>./m. To prevent heat losses from the molten metal an electrically conductive tube is located radially between the coils and the outlet pipe so that heat is generated in the tube by eddy currents induced therein by the coil currents.
