Abstract

1322710 Reciprocating conveyers CONSTABLE HART & CO Ltd 2 Oct 1970 [3 Oct 1969] 48657/69 Heading B8A [Also in Division F4] Particulate material is elevated between a supply shoot 3 and a bin 4 by a plurality of buckets 5A, 5B pivotally mounted on a base structure 1 and moved in timed relation such that the material is cascaded from one bucket to the next. Each bucket is secured to a bell crank 6 pivotally mounted at its fulcrum to one end of an arm 7 secured for rotation with a driven shaft 8. The crank 6 has an abutment 9 which bears against the arm 7 as the bucket is pivoted to its raised position and a nose portion 11, which as the bucket approaches its raised position is engaged by the succeeding bucket as it approaches its lower position to pivot the bucket over centre such that it pivots freely until checked by the nose portion 11 encountering the shaft 8. The shaft 8 may be driven by tierods reciprocated by pneumatic or hydraulic rams and the buckets may be mounted in a tunnel (13), Fig. 4 (not shown), provided with external heating to the walls and/or the base.
