Abstract
1311053 Storage stranding SIEMENS AG 3 Dec 1971 [31 March 1971] 56360/71 Heading D1T The groups of rollers 30, 31 (Fig. 3), of a storage stranding device for producing S-Z twisted cable are so arranged that the bunch of elements to be twisted together passes between the groups on their common rotational axis or spaced from it by much less than the radius of any of the rollers. This minimises centrifugally-produced tensile stress. Many roller arrangements are described, e.g. Fig. 5. Each group of rollers may be enclosed by a housing, 52, 53 (Fig. 7) which may be rotatable therewith, or a common housing may enclose both groups.
