Abstract

1309663 Photo-electrophoretic imaging XEROX CORP 30 April 1970 [2 May 1969] 20904/70 Heading G2H A photo-electrophoretic imaging system has a blocking electrode 18 comprising conductive pins 44 (or strips, segments etc.) which are electrically insulated from each other. As electrode 18 rolls across an electrode 10, a contact 42 slides over the pins and applies a potential only to that portion of electrode 18 which is in contact with electrode 10. This suppresses electrical arcing. The pins may be spaced so as to form a half-tone image. In Fig. 1 (not shown) different groups of pins are subjected to different potentials.
